I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hussman School of Media & Journalism in the Visual Communication Sequence. I also have a Master of Science degree from North Carolina State University in Communication, and my nationally recognized social science research is focused on interpreting visuals and understanding how they shape public opinion. I spent years working at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in marketing, where I was responsible for regional content marketing, graphic design, social media, PR, branding, and project management.
What I love most is working with other businesses to help them see success and meet marketing objectives through both quality content and graphic design based on a customized branding strategy. I enjoy meeting clients where they are at with their existing branding and designing collateral that only enhances and amplifies a company's personality and core values.
The way I have given back is through in-kind branding, writing, and graphic design for the National Alliance for Mental Health (NAMI) North Carolina and NAMI Wake County. I volunteer and contribute to these organizations, also as lead facilitator of a local NAMI support group, due to my own lived experience surviving mental health issues. I also speak and write about my experiences, which are published through a blog located on Psychology Today and the UNC School of Medicine.
